The Basics
The Serenity Houses provide quality and affordable sober living homes in the Loveland, Colorado community. With access to Colorado’s natural wonders like the Rocky Mountains—but still close to major cities like Boulder and Denver—the locations of SH sober homes are ideal. With a structured and homey atmosphere, SH has given clients seeking stability during early sobriety the perfect balance to maintain a healthy lifestyle for over 10 years.
Accommodations and Amenities
There are four homes associated with SH, all located in a residential neighborhood of Loveland. Each house has 12 to 15 beds and most clients have their own private room and are given new linens as they move in. The Victorian style homes have modern amenities and are always well kept and clean. The common areas in HH houses include fully equipped kitchens, spacious living rooms, a theater room with cable TV, a game room, an exercise room with cardio machines, laundry facilities, free wifi and outdoor living areas.
Each house has an on-site manager to help residents with day-to-day issues and to aid in adjusting to sober life. Each of the houses is also specific to a specific demographic; one is co-ed for Christian clients, one for Christian women and two exclusively for men.
Rules and Regulations
Clients are asked to commit to at least three months at SH before granted housing. The structure for continued recovery at SH is not overly strict but still ensures clients prioritize their recovery above anything else. Unemployed residents are required to attend two daily 12-step meetings (those with jobs must attend one and all must actively participate in the program with a sponsor). Clients are also required to be present at the two weekly house meetings and perform nightly Breathalyzer tests. A 10 pm curfew is enforced for the first three weeks of a client’s stay and thereafter weekend curfews are 1 am. Clients must also perform compulsory weekly chores.
Extras
SH’s location offers clients access to endless outdoor and recreational activities including hiking, skiing, boating, fishing, biking, mountain climbing and snowboarding. Group trips and outings are frequently arranged, but clients are also encouraged to discover which activities bring them serenity and health.
Long-term residents are also given job and career assistance as well as educational opportunities.
In Summary
All of the homes associated with SH provide affordable, structured living in a comfortable environment and great location. Since SH caters specifically to Christians, those belonging to another faith may not find this group of sober homes the best fit. But Christians looking for community and 12-step recovery support will be well-served in the Serenity Houses.
