Seekers of Serenity Place Review
Based out of Columbus, Nebraska, Seekers of Serenity Place is a short-term residential treatment program offered through Behavioral Health Specialists, Inc. Founded in 1992, it provides a range of flexible programs for the treatment of addiction and mental health disorders to both self-referred and court-ordered clients.
Accommodations and Food
Seekers of Serenity Place can accommodate up to 25 residents in double rooms with twin beds and shared closet space. The facility has on-site laundry, meeting rooms, living areas with TVs and a fully-equipped kitchen. Throughout their stay, residents are provided three meals a day served by on-staff cooks.
Treatment and Staff
After an initial intake and biopsychosocial assessment, clients work with staff members to develop an individualized treatment plan. If necessary, clients go through a social detox on-site— this does not include medical support or supervision. Those in need of a medical detox can get referrals to nearby facilities.
While the specifics of each plan may vary, treatment generally includes individual, group and family therapy that employs evidence-based care, such as CBT and Motivational Interviewing (MI). Throughout their stay, clients attend 42 hours a week of therapy and educational sessions, which cover addiction as a disease and relapse prevention. All residents are also required to attend off-site 12-step meetings. This facility is not equipped to offer dual diagnosis support; however, referrals to a Behavioral Health Specialists affiliate can be made.
The staff at Seekers of Serenity Place includes CADCs, LMHCs, LPCs, LMFTs, LCSWs, psychologists and additional Master’s-level clinicians.
Extras
Additional services include outpatient treatment at a stepped-down rate for clients who have completed primary care and are looking for aftercare.
