Seasons Bali is a treatment organization for adults based in beautiful Bali, Indonesia. Located in the capital city and main hub of the Indonesian province of Bali, on the southern part of the island, Seasons offers residential care to men and women struggling with substance abuse and co-occurring disorders. Seasons Bali began in August 2011 when the founder, Richard Smith, an experienced drug counselor, moved to Bali from Australia and launched an exclusive individual counseling service. It has since expanded to offer luxury residential treatment for a limited number of clients in a resort-style facility.
Seasons is affiliated with The Hader Clinic, which is based in Melbourne and is one of Australia’s largest addiction treatment providers. Smith established The Hader Clinic in 1998 and the organization has grown to offer residential, outpatient and sober living throughout Victoria and Queensland, as well as a new facility in Portugal. The Seasons program employs the same 12-step based therapeutic community treatment model as The Hader Clinic.
Accommodations and Food
Seasons Bali’s co-ed program is set in a beautiful villa to provide clients with a healing retreat for early recovery. The facility accommodates a total of 12 clients at a time, creating an intimate atmosphere for healing. Each resident is given a lovely private room with an en suite bathroom. Maid and laundry services are provided daily. The facility has indoor and outdoor meeting spaces, a pool and gym facilities.
Seasons Bali has an on-site chef who prepares three gourmet meals a day. The chef can accommodate all dietary restrictions or needs. There are also coffee, snacks and juice available all day.
Treatment and Staff
The treatment process at Seasons Bali begins with an assessment to determine the individual’s level of need. Seasons Bali offers on-site medical detox with Medication-Assisted Treatment (MAT) if necessary. However, the goal of the program is total abstinence, so long-term MAT is not offered on-site. Seasons Bali is also equipped to provide dual diagnosis support and has therapists on staff to treat co-occurring disorders.
The exact length of stay is based on the client’s needs, but the basic program at Seasons Bali begins at 28 days. A minimum stay of 90 days is highly recommended and most clients aren’t eager to leave. After the detox process, clients have daily check-ins, counseling and support sessions. The treatment is based on the therapeutic community model, with a strong emphasis on peer support. Each new resident is assigned a buddy who helps them get settled during the first week in treatment. The daily routine consists of plenty of exercise and both group and individual counseling. There are two beach fitness classes and three yoga classes offered per week.
Counselors use a variety of treatment techniques including CBT and relapse prevention. Meditation classes are provided as well as opportunities for massage therapy, workshops on stress management and health and wellness. Seasons Bali also integrates the 12 steps into treatment and clients are required to participate in on-site meetings and outside AA/NA meeting each week. The organization provides transportation to and from these outside meetings.
The staff includes credentialed mental health therapists and consulting doctors and psychiatrists, as well as a chef and various other support staff. Team members are almost always in recovery themselves and bring their personal knowledge to the table.
Seasons Bali also offers family counseling and group sessions via Skype which are aimed at providing substance abuse education as well as addressing co-dependency issues.
Seasons Bali offers a luxurious, serene recovery retreat at an exceptionally affordable price. The combination of relaxation and traditional 12 step-style peer support helps clients build a solid foundation for lasting recovery. Seasons’ family involvement and aftercare planning also make this a great choice for luxury treatment in Bali.
