Seamless Transitions Homes

The Basics

Founded in 2012 in the Palm Beach suburb of Lake Worth, Florida, Seamless Transitions Homes provides eight sober living facilities for men and women in early recovery. The organization’s mission is to help people rebuild their lives through the 12 steps and provide a nurturing environment to boosts self-esteem. All eight locations are within walking distance to downtown Lake Worth; which includes libraries, grocery stores, restaurants, bus stops, several AA and NA meetings and the beach.

Accommodations and Amenities

Seamless Transitions Homes offers three houses for women and five for men, with approximately 75 beds total. The homes are located in quiet, middle-class neighborhoods and clients are expected to maintain respectable behavior towards neighbors. The all-male homes include a Mediterranean-style villa and a residence with a modern-style exterior, while the women’s homes are ranch-style. Two of the men’s houses can accommodate up to 12 clients each, while the eight-bedroom villa has space for 18.

Residents are typically paired in comfortably furnished, double-occupancy rooms with twin beds, dressers and closets. Amenities include Wi-Fi, 32” TVs with cable, exercise and weight rooms, laundry facilities, and one of the men’s houses has a pool. There is a large staff and each house has at least one live-in manager. All homes are smoke free, but guests are welcome to smoke outside at designated areas.

During their stay, residents are responsible for their own groceries and meal preparation. Kitchens are equipped with extra pantries and refrigerators for storage.

Rules and Regulations

Clients are required to attend five weekly 12-step meetings, five in-house meetings, maintain employment and/or participate in an Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) during their stay. Referrals for treatment are provided, including the Fresh Life Recovery Center, which many clients opt to attend. House meetings include Big Book and step studies but client are encouraged to find an outside home group and take a service commitment. Residents must also get a sponsor within two weeks of arrival.

Performance of household chores is mandated. The curfew is 9:30 pm, Sunday through Thursday, and 11:30 pm Friday and Saturday. There is no minimum length of sobriety required for entrance and clients are welcome to stay as long as they want, provided that they are in good standing. However, there is a zero tolerance policy for relapse and random drug and alcohol screenings are conducted. Residents who are found to have relapsed must leave the premises.

Extras

Seamless Transitions works with many reputable inpatient and outpatient facilities, detox programs, social workers, interventionists and sober coaches in the area. Referrals can be made for any recovery services as necessary.

Seamless Transitions Homes is a member of FARR (Florida Association of Recovery Resources), which demands high standards from its members.

In Summary

Seamless Transitions Homes embraces the AA fellowship and its principles. The organization believes that the 12-step approach leads to miracles and requires their clients dive in to the local community. For men and women seeking a safe and 12-step oriented sober living where they will be treated as family, Seamless Transitions is an excellent choice.
