The Basics
Scottsdale Treatment, Inc. (STI) is an Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) located in Scottsdale, Arizona that offers counseling and Medication-Assisted Treatment (MAT) for alcoholism and drug addiction, specifically for clients who are coming out of residential treatment centers or who are ordered into treatment by the courts. STI is a nonjudgmental atmosphere offering both treatment for and education about addiction to both addicts/alcoholics and their family members and friends.
Treatment and Staff
Founded in 1996, STI was created with the sole purpose of helping members of the Scottsdale community and surrounding areas get their lives back in order. It’s the only place in Arizona offering both MAT for substance abuse and court-mandated treatments for those who’ve committed criminal offenses involving illegal substance possession or domestic violence.
STI uses evidence-based treatments including group and individual therapy, CBT and medication management. Twelve-step programs are not a part of STI’s treatment plan, though clients are not discouraged from attending meetings in their spare time. After going over past histories and future goals with a licensed therapist, clients are given individualized treatment plans to fit their specific needs. Relapse prevention is an integral part of treatment, and it includes education about what causes each relapse and how to prevent one in the future.
Dual diagnosis support is available for those afflicted with more than one addiction or mental health afflictions (including anxiety, depression and sleep disorders). To treat all such co-occurring conditions, STI has a staff independently licensed by the state that includes psychiatrists, psychologists, counselors and medical technicians. While STI isn’t a methadone clinic, it does administer Suboxone for drug addicts and Vivitrol injections for alcoholics.
STI accepts commercial insurance and out of pocket payments based on a sliding scale, but not Medicaid.
Extras
Counseling is available to individuals, couples and families. There are special gender-specific group sessions as well as legal advice for clients coming from the court system. Flexible hours and multiple classes make the IOP accessible to clients with job and family commitments.
