The Basics

Scottsdale Providence Recovery Center in Arizona is treatment facility designed for adults struggling with substance abuse. It offers a structured inpatient treatment program with housing, in addition to a standard outpatient track that includes a separate Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP). The outpatient treatment facilitates individual and group therapy, holistic treatment, the 12 steps and expressive art therapies while clients also learn valuable life skills. Participants can reap the benefits of treatment while being able to still live at home and maintain any personal or professional obligations.

Treatment and Staff

The outpatient program for clients who are not living in the provided housing at Scottsdale Providence takes place in the evenings. The evening IOP runs from 5:30 to 8:30 pm three times a week, and the step-down, standard OP requires between four and six hours of treatment per week. Each of the tracks are completely individualized, so there is no set amount of time that clients can expect to be in treatment. It all depends on their progress and if the client is meeting the treatment goals established with their primary therapist.

Incoming clients have a full medical exam and a mental health assessment prior to beginning treatment. Clients who are also struggling with a dual diagnosis are offered medication management. After the initial assessment clients are placed into the appropriate groups, which are gender-specific and occurring several times throughout the week. There is also at least one weekly individual session.

The groups can be between six and 15 people with one therapist leading the session. The groups focus on anger management, sex ands love, family relationships, anger management, setting healthy boundaries and preventing relapse. There are psychoeducational groups about substance abuse, and groups for clients who have experienced past traumas. Treatment methods include CBT, DBT, EMDR, art and music therapy, biofeedback and Motivational Interviewing (MI), just to name a few.

There is a large and experienced staff at Scottsdale Providence Recovery Center. It consists of a medical director, psychiatric nurses, LMSWs, LPCs and case workers.

Extras

Some extra holistic treatments include yoga and acupuncture.

In Summary

The evening outpatient program at Scottsdale Providence Recovery Center was created for those who ready to address their addiction but unable to commit to the time away from home that’s required for residential treatment. Luckily, the outpatient tracks are fully comprehensive and structured, and offer the same treatment protocols as the inpatient program. The staff is very caring and strives to facilitate a solid treatment experience that helps individuals establish a substance-free foundation and hopefully remain sober throughout their lives.
