The Basics
With locations in Dubuque, Cedar Rapids and Manchester, Iowa, SASC is a CARF-accredited organization with a range of counseling services for addiction. The facility was founded in 1975 and provides flexible outpatient treatment to adult men and women in addition to DWI/DUI services for court-ordered clients.
Treatment and Staff
Upon intake, all clients go through an initial assessment to help staff members develop their individualized treatment plans. While scheduling and duration of care varies for each client, treatment works within the structure of individual and group therapy that uses evidence-based practices like CBT and DBT. Groups cover education about addiction as a disease, relapse prevention, life skills and other related topics. All clients are also required to attend regular 12-step meetings.
While clients battling depression or anxiety are able to address those issues in therapy, the facility does not offer extensive dual diagnosis support. Detox is also not a part of the program at SASC.
The staff at SASC consists of LMSWs, LMHCs and additional state-certified addiction counselors.
Extras
In addition to the above, SASC provides similar programs for gambling addiction as well as treatment plans designed specifically for adolescents. Other standalone services include walk-in assessments, DWI/DUI evaluations and family therapy.
