The Basics
Based out of Miami, Florida, Safe Haven Recovery provides flexible treatment services to men and women struggling with addiction and co-occurring disorders. In addition to its Intensive Outpatient Programs (IOP) and Partial Hospitalization Programs (PHP), the facility offers a sober living component.
Accommodations and Amenities
The Safe Haven sober living facilities are standard residential homes throughout the Miami metro area. Altogether, the houses have room for approximately 40 residents. Though the specific layout of each home may vary, residents can expect to stay in shared rooms with twin beds, dressers and shared closet space. Each house also features common living areas with cable TV, on-site laundry and fully-equipped kitchens. Throughout their stay, all clients are expected to cook and prepare their own meals.
Rules and Regulations
While staying in the homes, all clients must also attend either an IOP or PHP track through Safe Haven and adhere to a strict schedule. Residents attend groups Monday through Friday from 9 am to noon at the outpatient clinic before stopping back for lunch at the houses. After lunch there are afternoon groups and individual therapy until 4 pm, at which point they can either return to the homes to relax or go to the gym (memberships are provided). Dinner is 6 to 7 pm, after which clients attend local AA/NA meetings. Saturday includes wellness activities and Sunday afternoons are used to grocery shop for the week.
As with most sober living homes, all residents must remain sober and submit to drug tests. Clients are supervised 24/7 and are not allowed to leave the residence without express permission from behavioral techs. Lengths of stay are flexible.
Extras
Safe Haven Recovery provides standalone individual counseling for mental health and addiction. IOP and PHP are also available without the combined sober living portion of care. Those who finish a primary care regimen can also attend Safe Haven’s IOP track as a stepped down aftercare option.
