The Basics
Located in Miami, Florida, Safe Haven Recovery is an expansive organization providing flexible treatment services to men and women struggling with addiction and co-occurring disorders. The outpatient offerings include an Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) and a Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP).
Treatment and Staff
Before beginning a program, clients go through an initial assessment and intake process to help staff members develop individualized treatment plans. While detox is not available on-site, the organization partners with many local detox facilities and can make referrals and arrangements as necessary. Once stabilized, individuals begin attending a treatment track which suits their needs.
The most intensive care is the PHP track, which is essentially a full-day program three to five days a week. IOP is more flexible, generally only meeting for three hours a day three days a week. PHP also includes increased medical oversight in addition to therapy. Both treatment plans feature individual and group therapy rooted in evidence-based practices including CBT, DBT and Motivational Interviewing (MI). Groups cover a range of topics including relapse prevention, addiction education, life skills, life coaching and more.
In addition to psychotherapy, the organization relies heavily on 12-step recovery principles and encourages clients to attend off-site AA/NA meetings. Dual diagnosis support including medication management services are also available.
The staff at Safe Haven Recovery consists of psychologists, RNs, LPCs, LCSWs and additional Master’s-level counselors.
Extras
The organization provides standalone individual counseling for mental health and addiction. Those who finish a primary care regimen can also attend Safe Haven’s IOP track as a stepped down aftercare option.
In Summary
Overall, Safe Haven Recovery is a well-rounded organization offering flexible and individualized treatment programs for adults struggling with addiction and co-occurring disorders. Programs are available in a range of intensities though all of them include evidence-based care and 12-step support. For those in the area, Safe Haven Recovery is worth considering.
