Sacred Space Retreats is a rehab and holistic healing center designed to help recovering addicts find balance and peace in their lives, using a variety of natural and spiritual methods, including nutritional analysis and physical exercise. Located in the lush woods of Sonoma County’s Cloverdale, California, Sacred Spaces is a tranquil and beautiful environment wherein a recovering addict can find clarity and balance on their path toward sobriety.
Accommodations and Food
The rooms at Sacred Spaces are colorful, chic and cozy, offering nice natural light that streams through glass doors. Several of the rooms have views that open out to the facility’s communal swimming pool. All patients can expect a private room, and all of the rooms come with free Wifi and a flat screen TV, as well as a private restroom, and access to a shared shower. One of the rooms, the “Sunset Garden Room,” comes with a king sized bed, a writing desk and a robe and slippers. Sacred Spaces has a “Bed and Breakfast,” feel to it. The woods around it are ideal for personal reflection, and nearby Yorty Creek is accessible by long walk.
In keeping with emphasis on nutrition, the food served is all one hundred percent vegan.
Treatment and Staff
Detox is available at Sacred Space Retreats. While detoxifying, patients may take part in IV Therapy Assisted Detox—a process in which patients receive vitamins and nutrients as their body recovers from the withdrawal effects of drugs or alcohol. The supplements used in these IV therapies include C and B Vitamins, as well as Amino Acids and Glutathion.
Only four clients are seen at any given time and the treatment team has formulated a program that uses a wide variety of therapeutic methods. These methods include offerings for clients both within and outside of 12-step programs, as well as treatment for those with co-occurring disorders. Treatment plans at Sacred Spaces include daily process groups, which happen in the morning; CBT; and coursework on the neurobiology of addiction.
The staff at Sacred Spaces is comprised of Anusha Amen-Ra, who is program director and nutrition consultant, and Dr. Lawrence V. Tucker, Psychiatrist and M.D. The two caregivers are available 24/7.
Extras
Residents at Sacred Spaces can participate in a number of relaxing and invigorating holistic activities, including yoga, meditation, martial arts and massage therapy, all of which are intended to help newly recovering addicts find the balance and mental clarity.
