Rutland Regional Medical CenterThe Basics

Based out of Rutland, Vermont, Rutland Regional Medical Center is a full service behavioral health hospital that’s been serving the area for over 100 years. In addition to its standard primary medical care options, the organization also provides flexible outpatient treatment for men and women struggling with addiction and co-occurring disorders.

Treatment and Staff

Clients go through an initial intake and assessment process to determine their eligibility and to help staff members develop their individualized treatment plans. Though a detox within the addiction treatment program is not available, Rutland Regional at large is a fully functional hospital and thus those in need of inpatient stabilization can do so before beginning the program.

Though programs may vary depending on each person’s needs, all clients attend both individual and group therapy that implements evidence-based practices including CBT and DBT. As treatment is primarily geared towards opiate abusers, the facility also provides supervised methadone and buprenorphine dosing daily from 6 to 10 am. Groups cover a range of topics including relapse prevention, case management, addiction education and coping skills. Dual diagnosis support is available including medication management services. Though 12-step participation is not strictly required, clients are encouraged to attend off-site self-help meetings if they wish.

The staff at Rutland Regional Medical Center consists of case managers, CADCs, doctors, psychologists, psychiatrists, RNs, LCSWs and additional Master’s and PhD-level counselors.

Extras

Rutland Regional offers a full continuum of medical services comparable to other large hospitals. Standalone mental health counseling is available as are drug testing services. Those who complete a primary care regimen can also continue with therapy at a stepped down rate as a form of aftercare.

In Summary

Rutland Regional Medical Center is a well-equipped facility providing flexible outpatient care to men and women struggling with addiction. Each program is individualized and includes dual diagnosis support, evidence-based care and medical and psychiatric oversight. While the prices of these programs may vary depending on clients’ insurance, Rutland Regional Medical Center remains a worthy resource for those ready to set a foundation for recovery in a structured setting.
