Spokane Heights Detox, part of the Royal Life Centers family of facilities, offers detox treatment programs to adult men and women. These programs utilize 12-step based treatment and holistic approaches, group and individual therapy and Medication-Assisted Treatment (MAT) and aftercare planning in upscale accommodations.
Accommodations and Food
The Spokane detox facility is in a one-story medical office type building in a busy neighborhood close to shops and restaurants. It has six beds in double occupancy bedrooms. The rooms are very spacious and fully furnished with full beds and large dressers, and each have a private bathroom. The facility is co-ed, but the men and women are separated in different wings. There are several common areas with flat screen TVs and couches, along with video game consoles. Additionally, there is a game room that offers a foosball table, games and books that are free to use in between programming hours.
The staff provides a laundry service and transportation for each of their clients. During treatment cell phones and laptops aren’t permitted but there is a shared phone that can be used at the beginning of treatment in order to communicate with loved ones. This is a closed facility, so during treatment there is typically no contact with family or friends so that the clients can solely focus on themselves and treatment.
All meals are prepared and served by an on-site chef, and healthy snacks are set out during the day. Meals are nutritious and fresh every day, and clients are able to request specific items if they have an allergy or specific requirements.
Treatment and Staff
The detox process lasts between four to six days on average depending on the substance the clients are detoxing from. Group and individual therapy begins almost immediately, offering evidence-based approaches. During this step clients work with their therapists on aftercare, which can include transferring to a residential program through Royal Life Centers, or an Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP).
There are several daily groups that cover relapse prevention, grief and loss, anger management and coping skills. There are regular AA meetings along with CBT, DBT and Motivational Interviewing (MI). Treatment is individualized to suit each client’s specific needs. There are also medication management options in addition to therapy.
The detox program is monitored 24 hours a day by medical staff. Treatment is offered by psychiatrists, LPC and RNs.
