Royal Life Centers is a well known network of addiction and dual diagnosis treatment centers with locations in Washington and Arizona. The Cascade Heights location is in Mead, Washington. This facility offers outpatient treatment for adults and holistic approaches. Outpatient services include a Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP), Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) and standard, ongoing outpatient treatment. The team here customizes programming to accommodate each client’s specific needs. However, all participants can expect group and individual therapy along with 12-step support. Typically, the outpatient track here is for those who have completed detox and inpatient at Royal Life Centers.
Treatment and Staff
Each treatment program offers a combination of therapy, activities, nutritional education, life skills training, vocational assistance and exercise. In addition, the treatment team includes clients’ families in the program plan. Staff encourages and guides family members into seeking their own support while their loved one is in treatment. As a result, there is a great chance of success after they leave the program. Clients learn how to better communicate, set healthy boundaries and deal with their complicated emotions surrounding their addiction and relationship to their families.
The PHP is a six day a week track with programming for up to six hours per day. After clients have completed this track, they step down to the less intensive IOP, which generally runs three times a week for about three hours a day. This stage also begins to incorporate individual sessions weekly.
At the beginning of treatment clients meet with their primary therapist to discuss their personal needs and goals. Clients attend AA or NA meetings while in this program, and work the steps and study the Big Book. Group therapy addresses common issues that addicts often face. This includes methods to avoid relapse, coping skills and identifying triggers.
Clinicians utilize evidence-based therapeutic approaches during individual sessions such as CBT, DBT, Motivational Interviewing (MI) and mindfulness. It’s worth noting, participants can expect plenty of outdoor therapeutic activities. Consequently, they get to work on moving past their limiting beliefs about themselves because they are engaging in challenging but fun experiences.
The staff are Master’s-level therapists who are LPC, LCSW, MFT and psychiatrists. There are also nurses who help with medication management.
Extras
A recently added feature to the program is the Dr. Phil Path to Recovery Program, a unique and cutting edge program curriculum that solely uses virtual reality technology. It incorporates real world experiences and scenarios with vocal guidance from Dr. Phil.
The family program at the Cascade Heights location includes a gym membership for the whole family.
