The Haven Detox Review
Royal Life Centers is a network of detox, inpatient and outpatient facilities located throughout Washington and Arizona. Since 2009 Royal Life Centers has provided clients with specialized drug and alcohol treatment. Programming includes Medication-Assisted Treatment (MAT), holistic therapies and 12-step support. There are also a number of therapeutic activities offered, such as equine therapy and expressive art therapies. The Lacey, Washington location, known as Royal Life Centers At The Haven, provides all the standard services against the backdrop of some of the Pacific Northwest’s most beautiful natural environments.
Accommodations and Amenities
The bright and cheerful, state of the art residence is a 14 bed facility that connects to a wildlife refuge and refreshing view of Mt. Rainier. This brand new edition to the network of treatment centers offer private bedrooms with flat screen TVs and a shared common space with a video game console, ping pong table and a variety of activities.
Within the facility clients find a fully stocked kitchen where the private chef prepares the healthy and balanced meals. There is also an on-site gym with machines and weights. Residents enjoy a couple of living room spaces, also with flat screens. Clients share the bathrooms located throughout the facility.
Clients dine together three times a day in the cafeteria style dining hall. They can choose from an array of beverages and snacks are always readily available. The aforementioned private chef accommodates dietary restrictions and has a variety of menu options. The chef carefully creates the meals to deliver all the essential nutrients and vitamins because The Haven maintains that there is a correlation between nutrition and recovery. At the same time, the fare is delicious and hearty.
Treatment and Staff
Treatment services at The Haven operate under the motto, “Because We Care.” Typically there are four and eight day tracks that consist of medically supervised detox, group and individual therapy, and a nutritional program. At the beginning of treatment clients are assigned to their primary therapist, who designs an individualized treatment plan.
There are five group sessions per day. These sessions focus on relapse prevention, how to deal with emotions, setting goals, self esteem and navigating through the initial stages of recovery. During one on one sessions clients begin to unpack the underlying issue that led to using drugs and alcohol to cope. They are also offer recovery focused solutions and alternative problem solving approaches.
Therapy uses CBT, DBT, Motivational Interviewing (MI), EMDR and other methods. There are on-site 12-step meetings and dual diagnosis support is available. Other holistic treatment approaches are music and art therapy, meditation and journaling.
Royal Life Centers At The Haven’s staff includes a board certified medical director, LCSW, CDPT, RNs, and a number of support and administrative team members.
Extras
Finally, holistic activities include Tai Chi, yoga and acupuncture.
During detox clients, Royal Life presents clients with the option of continuing their treatment at the Somner location, which is followed by an outpatient track.
In Summary
Above all, Royal Life Centers At The Haven is a beautiful, brand new location with a number of amenities and comforts while also providing the essentials of treatment. Perhaps most noteworthy, it encourages clients to unplug and relax while receiving therapy and building back up their bodies and minds. This is an excellent detox program that has follow up, aftercare services as an option.
