Royal Life Centers Sober Living Review
The sober living program through Royal Life Centers in Prescott, Arizona is for clients who are in the outpatient program and need a safe, supportive place to live. There are two levels of the sober living program; one being for current clients and the other for graduates of the program. While providing stability for the clients, Royal Life Centers’ sober living emphasizes the importance of accountability and reliability through 12-step attendance, and learning life skills. Clients receive a fair amount of the freedom to grow while taking the first steps in early recovery as they begin to plan their independent lives.
Accommodations and Amenities
The residences are separated by gender, and offer spacious shared bedrooms, all of which have their own flat screen TVs. Common rooms include a large living room with an additional TV with cable and Wifi, a full kitchen that is fully stocked, dining rooms and a washer and dryer on site. Clients are responsible for buying and preparing their own food. Staff provide two weekly grocery trips along with a voucher to purchase food.
Clients have access to transportation to local AA meetings four times per day.
Rules and Regulations
While in the nine week outpatient program clients are responsible for keeping their rooms and common areas clean, and trade off different house chores, like cleaning the bathroom and kitchen. After the outpatient program has commenced, those who move into the grad housing are required to get a job prior to moving in.
Clients have to submit to random drug screenings that are performed twice a week. While in the outpatient program clients have early curfews and daily check in with the house manager. The grad housing, while still structured, does allow for a bit more freedom, and clients in good standing are able to request overnight passes for themselves and guests. Visitors are also permitted on the property assuming they are approved by management. Clients in the grad housing program are able to take advantage of all the resources provided for outpatient sober living clients.

Clients in both levels of the sober living housing program through Royal Life Centers are given the opportunity to prove to themselves that they are worthy of living a happy life in recovery. This is evident by the sheer support that all clients are provided while the are participating in each stage of treatment. Regardless of whether clients are in the outpatient program or are a grad, the sober living environment is positive and encouraging.
