Rosecrance Ware CenterThe Basics

Rosecrance Ware Center facilitates outpatient and Intensive Outpatient Programs (IOP) for teens and adults with substance abuse and co-occurring disorders in Rockford, Illinois. Rosecrance began in 1916 as an orphanage for boys and has grown over the years to operate a huge network of substance abuse treatment facilities in the Chicago metro area, northern Illinois, Wisconsin and Iowa. Rosecrance relocated the Ware Center to a beautifully remodeled vacant grocery store in late 2014 to better serve the downtown Rockford community. Other Rosecrance locations offer detox, residential and recovery home programs for both adults and adolescents facing addiction mental health issues.

Treatment and Staff

The Ware Center provides totally individualized care for both adolescents and adults. At the IOP level, the adult program consists of six to nine hours of weekly CBT-based group therapy plus individual therapy depending upon the client’s needs. Groups are scheduled in the evenings on Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays. Treatment can be slowly tapered to include fewer hours per week and is often used as a step down for those transitioning out of one of Rosecrance’s residential programs. The adolescent IOP is an after-school program that includes six hours of treatment a week, with individual and family therapy as needed. Clients are often required to attend off-site AA/NA meetings to supplement their recovery program.

Dual diagnosis support is provided for those with co-occurring disorders. The Ware Center has an on-site pharmacy to better serve clients requiring medication management.

Staff consists of CADCs, LMHCs, LCSWs and LCPCs.

Extras

All programs can also include alternative treatments such as art and music therapy.

Attendance of the family program is required of parents and guardians of adolescents. This includes family education classes every other Monday.

Both the adult and adolescent programs offer aftercare, which generally meets once a week for an hour. This track focuses on relapse prevention. Though this phase typically lasts three to six months, clients can remain in the program as long as they need to. For those who have previously attended a program through Rosecrance, this phase is free of charge.

In Summary

Rosecrance Ware Center offers comprehensive outpatient treatment for those in the Rockford area. Clients transitioning out of more intensive programs can step down to any Ware Center track and benefit from individualized treatment and dual diagnosis support. Rosecrance Ware Center is a great choice for those seeking flexible outpatient care.
