As part of the expansive Rosecrance behavioral health network, the Rosecrance Harrison campus is a contemporary adult residential treatment center in Rockford, Illinois. The Rosecrance Harrison facility was specifically designed to provide a therapeutic environment conducive to recovery. Rosecrance operates more than 40 treatment facilities in Chicago and northern Illinois, Wisconsin and Iowa. Rosecrance began in 1916 as an orphanage for boys and expanded over the years to provide detox, residential, outpatient and recovery home programs for both adults and adolescents facing addiction and co-occurring mental health disorders.
Accommodations and Food
The Rosecrance Harrison location is a 97-bed treatment center set on 10 acres of park-like grounds. The campus also features a new 14-bed unit specifically designed to serve clients with co-occurring disorders, with a particular focus on PTSD. Male and female veterans of the US armed forces and their family members are given priority admission. The spacious double-occupancy bedrooms all offer twin beds with matching comforters, nightstands and closet space.
The building also has comfortable common areas, large meeting spaces, offices and an outdoor patio where clients can eat and hang out. The facility includes open living and recreational space, an outdoor dining area, a chapel, a fitness center and walking paths. All meals are served buffet-style in the dining room. Dietary preferences can be accommodated.
Treatment and Staff
The program provides individualized treatment plans for each client and the average stay is between 30 and 45 days. Residents have the option of starting in the on-site detox, if needed, before entering treatment. The treatment model at Rosecrance Harrison includes at least eight hours of daily group therapy and individual sessions. Therapy employs evidence-based practices, such as CBT, DBT and Motivational Interviewing (MI). Groups cover coping mechanisms, spirituality, relapse prevention, relationships, spirituality and all clients are required to attend NA/AA meetings off campus. Specialized groups and medication management are available for those with and co-occurring disorders.
The staff includes MDs, psychiatrists, nursing staff, MFTs and CADCs.
Extras
Programming includes experiential therapies like meditation, art therapy and creative writing classes.
