Oconomowoc WisconsinThe Basics

Having opened in 1907, Rogers Memorial Hospital has a long-standing history serving the community of Oconomowoc, Wisconsin. Originally known as the Oconomowoc Health Resort, Rogers Memorial Hospital was founded by Dr. Arthur Rogers, who wished to create a facility that provided mental health services in a peaceful environment. RMH offers residential treatment at their main facility and outpatient treatment at four out of a total of nine remote facilities. The outpatient treatment program provides clients with the opportunity to participate in treatment activities while they pursue their recovery off site.

Treatment and Staff

Rogers Memorial Hospital has Intensive Outpatient Programs (IOP) at the West Allis, Brown Deer, Oconomowoc and Kenosha facilities. Prior to admittance to any program, all clients must set up either an in-person or phone assessment. If clients require detox before beginning outpatient treatment, they are enrolled in a short-term program at the main hospital where they are stabilized over the course of three to five days.

Once clients are enrolled, they meet with a case manager to map out an individualized treatment plan which determines attendance of day, evening or weekend options.

The West Allis IOP is facilitated Monday through Friday from 9 am to 12 pm and on Monday, Tuesday and Thursday from 6 to 9 pm. The Kenosha and Oconomowoc branches have evening sessions on Monday, Tuesday and Thursday from 6 to 9 pm, with additional hours on Saturdays from 9 am to 12 pm at Kenosha. The Brown Deer facility is open Mondays, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday from 9:30 am to 12:30 pm. The duration of treatment depends on individual goals which are outlined by the client and counselor.

During treatment, clients attend group therapy facilitated by CADCs. Clients also attend individual therapy according to their treatment plan. Counselors utilize evidence-based practices that incorporate CBT and DBT techniques. Clients attend psychoeducation, relapse prevention and stress management courses.

In addition to treatment, clients are seen by an addiction medicine physician for medication management. If the client completed detox prior to enrollment, they may also require Medication-Assisted Treatment (MAT) with Suboxone or methadone prescriptions.

Dual diagnosis support is available as a separate program with varying treatment hours. If the client is struggling with co-occurring disorders, the DDP track offers additional psychiatric care. This track is available in Kenosha on Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays from 6 to 9 pm and on Saturdays from 9 am to 12 pm. The Madison branch offers treatment Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday from 1 to 4:15 pm. The Brown Deer facility is open Monday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday from 9 am to 12 pm. West Allis offers treatment Monday through Friday from 9 am to 12 pm.

Extras

RMH considers family involvement an essential component of recovery and thus have a vibrant family program that helps families to support their loved ones during and after treatment. Families learn about the disease of addiction and how to reduce enabling behaviors in the home.

Roger Memorial Hospital offers a solid range of treatment methods that incorporate educative and therapeutic modalities. The IOP and dual-diagnosis tracks both provide clients with flexible treatment hours that allow them to continue living at home and meet work responsibilities.
