Clients deemed in need of a higher level of treatment are usually referred to an outside residential or detox program.

The length of the program is based on the needs of the client and lasts as long as the counselors believe the client needs. However, if the counselors believe the client needs more extensive care, they will increase the amount of meetings per week.

The group meetings are usually about 10 clients in size and last for two hours. The counselors teach relapse prevention and psychosocial skills in the meetings. They also introduce the concept of the 12 steps in the meetings. Clients receiving treatment here are required to attend a weekly AA/NA  meeting hosted at Riverside San Bernardino County Indian Health, Inc.’s offices. Although, attending more than one meeting per week is recommended, of course.

The program has a total of seven CADCs who lead the group and individual meetings.
