Rivendell Behavioral Health Review
Based out of the Little Rock suburb of Benton, Arkansas, Rivendell Behavioral Health was founded in 1985. It offers a range of treatment programs for adolescents and adults who are struggling with addiction and co-occurring disorders. In addition to its outpatient options, the facility also provides acute inpatient care with medical and psychiatric oversight.
Accommodations and Food
The facility has a total of 80 beds for men and women. The accommodations are fairly clinical with both shared and private rooms available with twin beds and dressers for clothing. There are shared common areas with cable TV and outdoor paths that clients can enjoy during downtime. Residents eat three meals a day served cafeteria-style.
Treatment and Staff
After an initial intake and assessment, staff create an individualized treatment plan for each client. Those in need of detox can do so on-site at Rivendell. As this program is an acute inpatient program, stays are generally short-term, fewer than 30 days.
While the specifics may vary depending on each client’s needs, treatment includes both individual and group therapy rooted in evidence-based practices including CBT and DBT. Groups cover a range of topics including life skills, relapse prevention, trauma-informed care, case management and coping skills. Dual diagnosis support and medication management are available. Additionally, 12-step concepts are used in treatment with on-site AA/NA meetings held as well.
The staff at Rivendell Behavioral Health consists of psychiatrists, LCSWs, RNs, dietitians, LPCs, case managers and additional Master’s-level counselors.
Extras
Rivendell has standalone psychiatric assessments and a flexible Partial Hospitalization Programs (PHP) for those in need of less intensive care. Treatment plans can be tailored to children and adolescents as well as adults. Those who complete primary care can also continue on to stepped down outpatient therapy as a form of aftercare.
