Treatment and Staff
Rites of Passage treats a host of issues ranging from ADHD to substance use and eating disorders to phobias and defiant behavior. Before beginning treatment, students undergo a comprehensive intake assessment that includes a complete personal and family history as well as a physical and mental health exam. From there, the team determines the best possible individualized care plan customized to address the specific needs and goals of the individual. While the length of stay varies from person to person depending on the individual needs, most clients stay between two and three months. The minimum stay is six weeks.
The facility offers a client-centered approach to care that seeks to heal as well as empower the individual. The approach incorporates a number of therapeutic methods into the wilderness program. These include evidence-based models, skills training, psychoeducation, experiential therapy, and 12-step, as well as an academic curriculum.
