The Basics
Rimrock Trails Treatment Services is comprised of three facilities located in Bend, Redmond and Prineville Oregon. All treatment is tailored to the unique needs of adolescents who are chemically dependent or in need of dual diagnosis support. While there is a residential treatment component at the Prineville facility, services at the remaining offices are limited to outpatient programming. The facility opened their doors in 1990 as an adjunct program to Prineville Memorial Hospital. Currently, RTTS is now regarded as the program of choice for adolescents in central Oregon.
Treatment and Staff
Rimrock Trails Treatment Services offers age-specific treatment for adolescent boys and girls. Each program utilizes the Matrix Model, an evidence-based treatment model. All clients are screened prior to admission and must be between the ages of 12 and 17. There is no medical detox available at this time, but referrals can be made as required.
The RTTS program is an individualized approach, but on average most clients are in treatment for 12 weeks. During the course of attending the recovery program, clients attend a range of therapeutic activities that can be scheduled around school and other obligations. The clinical staff work with the client and their family to create the most reasonable treatment approach. Since the client base is entering treatment during a pivotal point in their development, their treatment plan is carefully tailored.
Group therapy is utilized to create a sense of community among clients and to help them process with other supportive peers facing similar challenges and clinical staff work to create a social environment that is supportive and accessible to the age group. Individual therapy helps clients to further process topics that may come up during group sessions and fosters trust between the client and their primary counselor. RTTS also emphasizes the importance of family therapy to help develop a stable support system at home to sustain lasting recovery.
Clients attend 12-step or SMART Recovery meetings to support their recovery plans. Clients learn relapse prevention techniques and navigate peer groups with the full support of the clinical staff. All therapeutic activities are facilitated by CADCs as well as recovery coaches. Clients with co-occurring disorders may be seen by a Psychiatrist for additional screening and medication management. If additional levels of support are needed, clients may be referred out to trusted resources.
Extras
Rimrock partnered with a local program, Healing Reins, to provide equine therapy. This alternative treatment program helps clients to practice self-control, trust and assertiveness while working with horses.

A team of credentialed staff and recovery coaches provide individual, group and family therapy tailored to the unique needs of the age group, their families and support network.
