RimrockRimrock Trails Review

Rimrock Trails is an Oregon nonprofit organization that provides substance abuse treatment and dual-diagnosis support to adolescents between the ages of 12 and 17. Rimrock Trails opened its doors in September of 1990 in a small wing of the Prineville Memorial Hospital. Today, Rimrock proudly boasts a beautiful residential campus in Prineville, which provides 60 to 90 day residential treatment, serving youth statewide and three outpatient offices throughout Central Oregon. Rimrock utilizes the 12-step modality in conjunction with CBT. Rimrock is also in the process of opening a full detox unit.

Treatment and Staff

All follow the Matrix Model for Young Adults, which includes components such as explicit framework lets young clients know exactly what is expected of them—designed to alleviate anxiety—and exercises that promote self-esteem, dignity and self-worth. Clients undergo individual, family and group therapy sessions and take part in either required SMART Recovery meetings or the 12-step program of their choice.

Residential treatment at Prineville lasts an average of 60 to 75 days and may go up to 90—length varies according to the client’s needs. Residential clients take part in required on-site 12-step meetings and CBT group every day and enjoy community outings on Thursdays and Fridays. Mondays through Wednesdays are spent on campus, where clients attend school until 2 pm, then start group which goes into the evening. Clients are also required to have an individual session with their personal counselor at least once a week.

The staff of Rimrock includes state certified teachers, LADCs, LCSWs and psychiatrists, all of whom are trained in adolescent treatment.

Extras

On top of its standard substance abuse treatment services, Rimrock also boasts equine therapy.

In Summary

Rimrock Trails has a substantial 20 year tradition. What’s more, it shows a laser focus in it services being exclusively targeted towards adolescents. Services are offered on a sliding fee scale, with basic self-pay amounting to $525 per day. Rimrock does accept most insurance and Open Access Plan benefits (which is an equivalent of Medicaid). Clients who rely on insurance to pay for their treatment may stay until their provider stops paying, which on average is about 45 days. However a longer stay can be arranged, as long as costs are covered out of pocket. For those seeking a solid adolescent rehab, Rimrock Trail may be a healing path to follow.
