The Basics
Based out of Anchorage, Alaska, Resolution Services is a small counseling organization founded by Vivian Patton, a state-licensed social worker who has been working in mental health since 1994. Treatment and Staff
Before beginning a program, all incoming clients go through an initial intake and assessment to help the staff members determine their needs. Patton’s clients can expect to attend both individual and group therapy with evidence-based treatment practices including CBT and DBT. All care plans come from a solution-focused, client-centered perspective, which is non-confrontational. Program participants also attend plenty of educational and informational groups covering substance abuse and health, life skills, anger management, coping skills, emotional processing, relapse prevention and other related topics. As court-ordered clients are also welcome to attend, 12-step participation may also be required in some cases. Those seeking more extensive dual diagnosis support may need to find additional help elsewhere.

Extras
The facility offers Department of Transportation (DOT) classes for DUI/DWI clients. More specifically, a special 12-week Access to Recovery (ATR) orientation program open to Alaska Native and Native American clients with state-funding available. Those who complete a program can also work with case managers to develop stepped down aftercare and discharge plans.
