Treatment and Staff
The two levels of outpatient care available at Resilience for those with a mental health diagnosis. Every person seeking treatment has an in depth assessment by an intake therapist and is then placed in the appropriate level of care.
The PHP is a six day a week program for up to eight hours a day, while the IOP can be a step down treatment and runs between three and six days a week for three to five hours of programming. The treatment approach is a combination of CBT, DBT, and trauma-focused therapies like EMDR, gardening therapy, meditation and yoga. With the emphasis being on supportive mental health treatment medication management is often integrated into treatment, with several group sessions per day. Specialty groups and dual diagnosis support are individualized to the client’s specific needs, and individual therapy is available as often as needed. Family therapy is required unless the clinical team determines otherwise.
The medical and clinical staff brings many years of experience working with mental health and dual diagnosis clients, including Master’s and PhD level MFTs, physicians, psychiatrists, art therapists, neuropsychologist, horticulture therapist, dieticians and LPCs.
In addition to traditional therapeutic methods therapists also provide daily exercise into the clients schedules. There are also holistic approaches, like art and music therapy, life skills and psychoeducation classes.
This is a great choice for those seeking healing for co-occurring disorders in sunny Los Angeles. The supportive housing option puts this on par with other mid-range residential treatment programs in the area. The thing that sets this program apart from other dual diagnosis treatments is the main focus on the mental health which allows to explore the root of substance abuse and start treating from there.
