The Basics
With three locations in Idaho, Idaho Falls, Pocatello and Boise, Renaissance Ranch is a faith based chemical dependency rehabilitation facility that offers Intensive Outpatient Programs (IOP) and standard outpatient treatment to men and women. Treatment methods include the 12-step philosophy, biblical principals, CBT and experiential therapies in both group and individual therapy therapy sessions for a minimum of 90 days.
Treatment and Staff
Though the programs are heavily based in Christian values, this facility is open to those of all religions, but does ask that those who are seeking treatment here will be open to their treatment philosophy regardless of their beliefs.
The IOP offers flexible programming with schedules in the morning or evening. Running three days a week, Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays, from either 10 am to 1 pm, or 6 pm to 9 pm. These schedules are mainly group therapy but do include an individual session once per week. The step down option of the standard outpatient, which is considered aftercare, runs one or two evenings a week with one group session and one individual session. Both programs last approximately 90 days each.
In addition to introducing clients to the 12 steps and connecting them with support groups within their communities, there is an educational element to treatment that includes relapse prevention planning, life skills training, EMDR (if necessary) and Motivational Interviewing (MI). Therapists also incorporate recreational therapy and activities, meditation and relaxation techniques, indentifying and addressing past traumas that may have occurred and contributed to the current addiction, and becoming aware of the shame based family system that may be in place.
The staff of each Renaissance Ranch location has extensive experience both in working with clients in the field of addiction and with faith based methods. Therapists include LCSWs, LCDCs and CADCs.
Extras
The family program is a very important element of treatment at Renaissance Ranch and invites all family members to participate. The program is 90 days and includes group therapy and psychoeducation. Sessions meet one evening per week for three hours and introduce support groups, like Al-Anon, and includes coursework, like journaling or writing assignments.
In addition to treatment programming this facility now offers additional services, like regular monitoring and drug testing. There are also referral resources offered for clients who would benefit from beginning treatment at a residential or detox facility.
In Summary
Renaissance Ranch provides a treatment service that aims to be caring and compassionate and remove the stigma of seeking help for an addiction. Though the programs are firmly based in Christian beliefs there is no requirement for clients to be actively involved in a church. This is a good choice for those seeking affordable outpatient care in Idaho.
