The Basics
With facilities throughout Nebraska, Region II Human Services is an expansive and state-funded organization that provides treatment for substance abuse and mental health. The organization is CARF-accredited and offers outpatient treatment primarily; however, residential and sober living referrals are available.
Treatment and Staff
After an initial assessment and intake, clients work with staff members to develop an individualized treatment plan. While both self-referred and court-ordered clients are welcome to attend, the latter may have less flexibility in their programs. Treatment is available in standard and Intensive Outpatient Programs (IOP) that use evidence-based practices, like CBT and DBT, within the structure of individual and group therapy. While 12-step participation is strongly encouraged for all clients, those court-ordered may be required to attend. Support for co-occurring disorders is also available in the form of additional therapy and medication management; however, clients in need of more intensive care can receive a referral to one of the organization’s contracted providers.
The staff at Region II Human Services is wide-ranging and includes LADCs, LMHCs, LCSWs, RNs, MDs, psychiatrists and additional Master’s and PhD-level clinicians.
Extras
Other outpatient options include the ARM in ARM program for recovering mothers, which provides education and therapy with a specialized focus. Additional services include a day program for mental health issues at the organization’s Frontier House and Pioneer House facilities. Youth prevention programs, parenting classes and residential treatment for mental illness and co-occurring disorders are also available through affiliated facilities.
Clients in need of aftercare can continue attending outpatient treatment at a stepped-down rate as well.
In Summary
Overall, Region II Human Services is a well-equipped organization with a myriad of state-funded programs. Treatment is flexible and evidence-based with programs available for any number of needs. For those in the area, Region II Human Services is a comprehensive and affordable recovery resource.
