ReEntry Mental Health Services

The Basics

ReEntry Mental Health Services is a Maryland-based facility that provides a range of support services to residents of the Northern part of the state, including chemical dependency. Located in Westminster, RMHS has a small and focused staff that provides services specifically for individuals in the justice system who are seeking reentry services.

All services are outpatient and available for both adults and adolescents. Treatment is individualized to each client’s needs and geared towards treating addiction developed either while in the system or prior to incarceration.

Treatment and Staff

All clients at RMHS are assessed to determine their acuity and any existing mental health concerns. While detox is not available, clients may be referred as needed before beginning treatment. Dual diagnosis support is available for those with co-occurring disorders.

Clients participate in both group and individual therapy that focus on chemical dependency. All services are facilitated by a staff that includes a psychiatrist, psychologist, CSWs, CACs and Clinical Nurse Specialists.

Clinicians use evidence-based practices including CBT. Behavior Modification may also be employed to help clients during their reentry process. During groups, clients learn skills such as stress management, crisis aversion and relapse prevention. Duration of treatment is determined by progress and participation.

Additionally, a DUI/DWI program is also available to help clients work towards getting driving privileges back. This track typically lasts 30 days (for the first offense), 90 days for the second offense and as long as nine months for the third DUI. Frequency of attendance depends on the client. Each client is encouraged to seek employment, which dictates their attendance schedule and frequency.

Extras

A range of therapeutic services are available including marriage and family therapy and couple’s therapy. Psychotherapy is also available for children and adolescents who have been affected by trauma, neglect or addiction.

Vocational placement assistance as well as community resources for housing and more may be provided if clients are in need.

In Summary

ReEntry Mental Health Services provides treatment for clients who are seeking assistance with their reintegration to society following incarceration. Therapy reduces the recidivism rate by providing knowledge and helping clients develop skills that prevent relapse and re-occurrence of behavioral issues. With additional services such as family, marriage and couple’s therapy, clients are given the opportunity to develop healthy and supportive relationships. All clients are treated with respect and are given the opportunity to thrive with their newfound recovery.
