The Basics
Located in Toms River, New Jersey, Redeem Her is a sober living facility for women. While the organization originally opened in 2005 with a facility in Roebling, that house has since closed though the Toms River location remains. While the facility primarily caters to court-ordered clients, those who are self-referred are also welcome.

The Redeem Her house is a modest, residential-style facility with a total of eight beds. Rooms are shared with one other client, each equipped with twin beds, nightstands, dressers and closet space. The home also features a small dining room, a living room area with a TV, a spacious kitchen and on-site laundry. Because its a transitional care program, all residents are expected to cook and prepare their own meals.
Rules and Regulations
During their stay, clients are required to submit to regular and random drug testing and obey a basic house behavioral contract. Residents who are on parole are also expected to adhere to the rules set out for them by the courts. All clients are also expected to attend a 12-step recovery program, work 40 hours a week and keep up with basic house chores.

In addition to its recovery programs, Redeem Her also runs a nearby thrift shop that helps generate income for the house and keep treatment affordable. Depending on availability, the store can sometimes employ residents as well. The facility also has special events throughout the year including guest speakers and fundraisers on a rotating schedule.
