The Basics
Recovery Unlimited Treatment Center was founded in 2000 by Richard T. Robinson, MD, a doctor with a background in treating alcoholism and drug dependency. The CARF-accredited organization is located just north of Flint, Michigan in the small town of Mt. Morris. It provides outpatient substance abuse counseling to adult men and women.
Treatment and Staff
Treatment works within the structure of individual and group therapy using CBT, as well as education, peer sharing, relapse prevention techniques. While treatment is co-ed, some groups are separated to address gender-specific issues. Recovery Unlimited also runs a regular HIV group. Individual therapy is scheduled as needed. Clients are randomly drug tested at least twice a month. Treatment length varies depending on the needs of the client.
Although Recovery Unlimited is not 12-step based, counselors do refer clients to local AA and NA meetings for additional support.
Additional support for clients with co-occurring disorders is offered through individual therapy with a mental health counselor and medication management. For clients struggling with opiate addiction, Medication-Assisted Treatment (MAT) by way of Suboxone or methadone is available.
Extras
In addition to substance abuse treatment, counselors work with counselors to design a plan to address all aspects of the client’s life; including medical needs, educational and vocation goals, family and social relationships and psychological needs.
Aftercare is available in the form of individual meetings available primary care has been completed.
