The Basics
Recovery Place, Inc. was established in 1984 and provides residential and outpatient substance abuse treatment in Savannah, Georgia. The CARF-accredited facility has received the Best Practices Model Facility citation. Recovery Place also offers detox and is equipped to provide dual diagnosis support.
Accommodations and Food
Recovery Place’s residential program houses clients in luxury apartment suites with roommates. The apartments all have TVs and game areas. The apartment complex also includes a central kitchen with a staff that prepares all meals and snacks.
Treatment and Staff
Detox usually lasts five days to two weeks and residential treatment can continue for one to six weeks after that. Clients begin the day with chore assignments and then have a full schedule of group and individual therapy. Clients average six hours of group sessions each week day and three hours on the weekends. Individual therapy is scheduled at least twice each week.
Therapy uses CBT, Motivational Interviewing (MI), the 12-step framework and experiential modalities such as art therapy and yoga. The treatment team includes LPCs, nurses and psychiatrists, all of whom are experienced in providing dual diagnosis support. Clients are encouraged to work the 12 steps while in treatment, and they’re transported daily to local AA/NA meetings.
Extras
Recovery Place encourages family members to participate in treatment and offers three hours each week of family program activities for recovery education and support. For aftercare, clients may step down into Recovery Place’s outpatient programs and/or attend a weekly aftercare group or individual counseling.
Recovery Place also offers DUI services and resource/monitoring programs for addicted professionals.
