The Basics
Based out of Hartford, Connecticut, Recovery House is a sober living home designed as a stop-gap for clients seeking more intensive levels of care. The facility is affiliated with Saint Francis Hospital and Medical Center Alcohol and Drug Recovery Centers (ADRC).
Accommodations and Amenities
The Recovery House has a total of 20 beds for men and women in gender-separated rooms, shared between two to three clients at a time. Each comes with basic amenities, including twin beds, dressers and closet space. The home features shared common areas with TV, on-site laundry, a dining room and kitchen. Throughout their stay, clients are expected to prepare their own meals.
Rules and Regulations
To stay at the facility, residents must also be attending a concurrent outpatient program either through Saint Francis Hospital or an outside organization. Because clients generally stay in the short-term at Recovery House before transitioning to a longer-term sober living, it has no strict employment requirements. Instead, residents are expected to attend individual and group therapy at the facility; which includes vocational services, life skills, gender-specific recovery groups and 12-step meetings. Clients receiving Medication-Assisted Treatment (MAT) like Suboxone or methadone, are welcome to attend as are those with co-occurring disorders.
Extras
Because the organization is affiliated with Saint Francis Hospital and Medical Center, clients in need of inpatient, detox or outpatient treatment can receive referrals as necessary. During their stay, residents can also work with staff members to find jobs and enroll in additional state-funded programs.
