Recovery Center Missoula Review
Based out of Missoula, Montana, Recovery Center Missoula is a behavioral health facility offering outpatient, detox and residential treatment for addiction and co-occurring disorders. Since opening in 2013, it has become a valuable resource in a region of the state where addiction has become a widespread problem.
Accommodations and Food
The residential program is operated out of a co-ed facility with a total of 16 beds, available to men and women who are 18 years or older. Clients are separated by gender and share rooms with one other resident. Bedrooms are equipped with twin beds and shared closet space. All meals are included and designed by professional chefs, with a focus on both taste and nutrition. Fare is best described as Italian, Asian and Spanish-influenced blended with traditional American recipes. Special dietary restrictions can be accommodated as well.
Treatment and Staff
After an initial assessment, clients work with counselors to develop an individualized treatment plan. Those in need of detox are stabilized before treatment begins. It should be noted that detox is not offered as a standalone service; clients who come through this program must continue on to either Recovery Center Missoula’s outpatient or residential track.
Treatment works within the structure of individual and group therapy using evidence-based practices, such as CBT and DBT. Recovery Center Missoula has its own model of recovery that focuses on the balance of doing, being and thinking. Groups address mindfulness, relapse prevention, healthy relationships, spirituality, processing trauma and more. While clients may opt to attend 12-step meetings while in treatment, is is not a required. Additional support for those with a dual diagnosis is also available.
Residential clients attend treatment seven days a week for 10 to 12 hours a day. Outpatient care is available as an Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) or Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP), generally meeting Monday through Saturday for 12 to 30 hours a week.
Staff consists of LCSWs, MSWs, LACs, MDs, RNs, CADCs and additional Master’s-level staff.
Extras
Aftercare is offered in the form of stepped down outpatient treatment. The facility hosts a Roots in Recovery alumni group where former clients discuss relapse prevention strategies and share their early sobriety experiences.
