Reawakenings Wellness Review
Reawakenings Wellness is a waterfront inpatient rehab located in Miramar, Florida—just 15 minutes from Fort Lauderdale International Airport. Reawakenings also offers outpatient, dual diagnosis and detox substance abuse treatment for anyone over the age of 18. Treatment incorporates holistic customized programs such as acupuncture and meditation as well as supervised detox procedures. These treatments hope to inspire a complete mind-body-spirit recovery from drug abuse
Accommodations and Food
The grounds at Reawakenings are situated on the South Florida waterfront. Clients are accommodated in eight shared gender-specific bedrooms. Each unit is furnished with twin beds and feature hardwood floors and an en-suite bathroom. The residence includes an exercise room with cardio equipment, a large kitchen and several common rooms.
Clients are expected to wake up at 7 am for breakfast. Meals are described as “home-style” and are served three times a day by a chef. All specific dietary needs are accommodated upon individual request. Outside snacks and soda are allowed on site, as are cigarettes. However, laptop computers and cell phones are not permitted. There is a media room with a shared telephone and computer provided and usage privileges are given out accordingly. Lights must be out each night at 10 pm.
Treatment and Staff
The average day varies from client to client based on their individualized treatment plan. The first step to determining a treatment plan is an intake assessment. Those requiring detox services begin with this process and are admitted to the residential program upon stabilization.
For those who do not need detox, treatment combines individual and group therapy, the 12-step framework and Smart Recovery. Outpatient treatment is organized on a case-by-case basis, and is a less intensive variation of group and individual therapy and the 12-step program.
The treatment team at RW is made up of 25 professionals including physicians, psychologists, therapists and counselors who are all certified in practicing CBT and other evidence-based methods of treatment.

Reawakening’s Wellness Center’s drug and alcohol addiction treatment program is one of only 6% of the nation’s behavioral health treatment programs that have earned the coveted accreditation from the Joint Commission on the Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations (JCAHO).
Additionally, Reawakening’s holistic approach also encourages clients to work on their physical recovery with exercise that might include group walks and an on-site gym. Non-traditional treatments such as acupuncture, Tai Chi and art therapy are available.
