Located in beautiful Palm Beach, Florida, Rally Point Palm Beach is a treatment program that specializes in the care of male clients struggling with substance abuse. Rally Point offers a multifaceted treatment approach that combines the 12-step recovery model with clinical, evidence-based and holistic therapeutic methods. Rally Point offers a classic “Florida-style” continuum of care with the guys staying in upscale sober living homes and participating in a Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP), Intensive Outpatient Programming (IOP) or outpatient care at an off-site clinical facility.
Accommodations and Food
The Rally Point clinical and residential facilities are all situated in the same neighborhood. There are a total of three houses with 15 beds and the men are separated according phase. The PHP home, called Fortitude House, is equipped with space for six guys and has a canal in the backyard for fishing. Just across the street, Unity House and Victory House provide space for up to nine men in the IOP and outpatient programs. Between the three houses, the men have access to a pool, hot tub and basketball court. Clients enjoy grilling on the outdoor barbeque, fishing in the backyard and having movie nights in the living room. In addition to the beaches and water recreation activities, there are hiking trails nearby.
The PHP residents enjoy catered lunches at the clinical facility, Mondays through Fridays. They each receive a $70 gift card for groceries once a week and are encouraged to shop and eat together. A dietician is available to supervise shopping and food preparation to ensure nutrition standards are met. The IOP and outpatient clients are expected to shop and prepare meals on their own, but also receive lunch at the facility on days when they are attending treatment.
Treatment and Staff
Clients entering treatment undergo a comprehensive assessment to help determine the most effective treatment plan for each man. On-site detox services are not provided but, if necessary, clients can be referred to affiliated local detox program. Upon completion of detox, clients transition directly into the PHP.
The PHP phase usually last about 30 to 40 days, with full days of therapy on weekdays and other recovery and fellowship activities on weekends. While in PHP, clients move through a system consisting of red, yellow and green phases. In a weekly community meeting, the entire staff and clients from all the programs meet to discuss any issues. In order to phase up, each client must address the weekly meeting and explain why they are ready to move up. This unique system helps the men stay accountable to one another and involves the treatment team in any ongoing issues in the house.
After PHP, the men transition into IOP for six to eight weeks. During IOP, they have three groups a week and one individual session. During this stage of treatment, they can return to work or school part-time, but are strongly encouraged to dedicate this time to focusing on recovery. The outpatient phase can continue for about another 90 days, during which the men attend one or two groups a week and remain accountable to their peers in the house as well as their counselors.
The 12-step method is an integral part of the programming, with daily meetings on-site and access to off-site meetings in the local community, with transportation provided. Rally Point clinicians also integrate evidence-based therapies like CBT, DBT and Motivational Interviewing (MI). In addition, Rally Point educates clients on the addiction as a disease concept, provides life skills training and employment assistance.
The Rally Point Palm Beach clinical team is comprised of an MD, ARNP, LCSW, registered dietician and Master’s-level psychologist. There are also several holistic practitioners available, including licensed therapists that specialize in art, music, equine and adventure therapy. Medication management is available for individuals in PHP with co-occurring disorders. Beginning in IOP, clients manage their own meds. No controlled substances are allowed on the premises.
Extras
Rally point offers an array of holistic therapies that include art, music and equine therapy. In addition, the clients get to experience an adventure therapy trip once a month. These excursions are planned and supervised by a licensed mental health counselor that specializes in outdoor therapy. They include things like paddle boarding, snorkeling and swimming with manatees.
Rally Point is conveniently located in the same neighborhood as a large 12-step clubhouse, which offers clients a great place to hang out, fellowship and be of service. To add to the family atmosphere at Rally Point, Bruno, the adorable English bulldog therapy pup is on-site to offer canine support. Bruno is in the process of officially becoming a certified therapy pet.
