The Basics
Located in Reno, Nevada, Quest House is a transitional living facility for adolescent boys, ages 13 to 17, who struggle with addiction and co-occurring mental health issues. Run by Quest Counseling and Consulting, which was founded in 2003, the organization provides state-certified treatment to both court-ordered and self-referred clientele.
Accommodations and Amenities
The Quest House is an 18-bed facility in a home-like environment. Rooms come equipped with basic amenities, including dressers and closet space, and are shared with one other resident. Designed to help clients learn to live independently, residents takes an active hand in household duties, such as shopping for groceries and preparing meals. These chores are assigned on a rotating basis.
Rules and Regulations
All residents are required to attend treatment in addition to staying on track with school through on-site educational sessions. Treatment consists of individual and group therapy using evidence-based practices, such as CBT, DBT, Motivational Interviewing (MI) and EMDR. Clients learn recovery principles that incorporate the 12 steps as well as the Seeking Safety model. Group also address anger management, life skills and healthy communication. Art therapy is also incorporated.
Clients must also submit to regular and random drug tests, observe curfew and attend all mandatory house meetings.
Staff includes CADCs, LADCs, MFTs, psychiatrists, psychologists and other Master’s-level clinicians.
Extras
On the weekends, residents can go on local trips to the park, the movies or to other fun, sober activities. Quest Counseling and Consulting also provides a outpatient treatment for addiction and mental health, which include family, couples and marriage counseling.
