The Basics
Established in 2003, Quest Counseling and Consulting is a behavioral health non-profit based in Reno, Nevada. The facility provides state-certified outpatient treatment for addiction and co-occurring disorders. It accepts both court-ordered and self-referred clients and though there are some adult groups, programs are tailored primarily to the needs of adolescent boys.
Treatment and Staff
Upon intake, clients undergo an assessment to help staff members develop an individualized treatment plan. While schedules may vary, treatment works within the structure of individual and group therapy that uses evidence-based practices, such as CBT, DBT, EMDR and Motivational Interviewing (MI). Groups address anger management, family roles and recovery skills, incorporating Seeking Safety and art therapy. Although some groups may cover AA/NA principles, participation in 12-step groups is not required as part of treatment. However, some clients may be required to attend meetings as part of their court order.
Adult programs include a range of DUI groups, criminal re-entry topics and parenting support. The staff of Quest Counseling and Consulting consists of LADCs, CADCs, MFTs, psychiatrists, psychologists and additional Master’s-level counselors.
Extras
Quest Counseling and Consulting has a transitional living home for adolescent boys called Quest House. The home offers many of the same treatment modalities as the outpatient program but with added emphasis on providing dual-diagnosis support.
Aftercare is offered in the form of continued outpatient treatement at a stepped down rate. Additional services include family, couples and marriage counseling as standalone services. In these sessions, therapy may be based on Multi-Dimensional Family Therapy (MDFT).
