SACOTThe Basics

With offices in Charlotte and Gastonia, North Carolina, Quality Home Care Services is primarily a community resource for clients in need of in-home health care. They also offer an outpatient substance abuse treatment program. Quality Home Care’s Substance Abuse Comprehensive Outpatient Treatment (SACOT) is an on-site program with daytime services available for men and women in need of treatment. SACOT staff are trained to work with individuals with mental and physical disabilities, making recovery accessible for all.

Treatment and Staff

All potential clients are interviewed and assessed by a staff therapist, who creates an individualized treatment plan for each person. Typical span of treatment at SACOT lasts a minimum of three months and a maximum of six months. Offering several methods of treatment, clients are provided with a practical treatment method using the Harm Reduction Model, CBT and DBT.

Clients receive treatment at the clinical offices five days a week, Mondays through Fridays from 10 am to 2 pm. Group therapy is held daily and clients attend one to two groups per day with typical groups focusing on the development of social skills, emotional awareness and addiction education. Clients are also randomly drug tested to ensure abstinence during their treatment.

In addition to group therapy, clients are transported each Thursday to a local 12-step meeting in order to encourage the development of an outside support network. While one meeting per week is mandatory and arranged by SACOT, individuals are strongly encouraged to attend additional meetings. They are are also asked to seek a sponsor and work the 12 steps.

Individual therapy in an integral part of treatment at SACOT, and clients typically meet one-on-one with their assigned counselors as much as three times per week during the first month of treatment. Number of individual sessions tapers off to once per week as the client progresses through the program. Therapists help clients to seek education, employment and stronger relationships with friends and family.

psychologist provides dual-diagnosis support for individuals struggling with co-occurring disorders. Any clients with physical or mental disabilities are accommodated and provided with adapted services. The staff includes a Licensed Clinical Addiction Specialist (LCAS) and CSW.
