Accommodations and Food
The facility has a total of 53 beds in dorm-like accommodations. Residents share rooms with one other roommate in gender-separate wings. Each room is equipped with twin beds and shared closet space. During their stay, clients are given three meals a day served cafeteria-style.
Treatment and Staff
Before beginning treatment, clients undergo an initial intake and assessment to help staff members develop an individualized treatment plan. Those in need of detox are referred to Pyramid Healthcare’s Hillside facility in East Stroudsburg. Once stabilized, clients follow a strict daily schedule of individual and group therapy that uses evidence-based practices, such as CBT, DBT and Motivational Interviewing (MI). Groups address addiction as a disease, anger management, life skills and psychoeducation. All clients are also required to attend regular 12-step meetings as part of their program.
Additional support for clients with a dual diagnosis is offered, as is medication management. As residents of Quakertown are still students, every treatment program includes five and a half hours of on-site tutoring sessions with state-certified teachers.
Staff consists of LPCs, RNs, CADCs, LCSWs, psychologists and additional Master’s-level clinicians.

In addition to the above, the facility offers a structured family program, which clients are encouraged to participate in, in conjunction with treatment. Once primary care is completed, clients can continue on to stepped-down outpatient care through one of Pyramid’s facilities as a form of aftercare.
