Psychological Healing Center

The Basics

With offices in both Sherman Oaks and Beverly Hills, California, Psychological Healing Center offers outpatient treatment for clients with a range of mental health issues, including dual diagnoses, across the Los Angeles area. Founder Dr. Judy Rosenberg is a prolific author and works as a media psychologist for a number of television stations. In addition, she has had her clinical psychology private practice open since 1996.

Treatment and Staff

Doctorate-level psychologist Dr. Rosenberg is the spearhead of the practice, but there are additional clinicians as well. Also on board are a Doctorate-level licensed clinical psychologist specializing in psychodynamic processing and psychoanalytic psychotherapy and a Master’s-level psychological assistant focusing on addiction, ADHD and stress management. Additional staff includes an MFT-I and art therapist who uses CBT and Narrative Therapy; an LMFT specializing in EMDR and treating PTSD, CPTSD, OCD, anxiety and substance abuse; a Master’s-level therapist and an MFT-I who uses psychodynamism for cases of trauma and dual diagnoses. Medication-Assisted Treatment (MAT) is offered.

Treatment utilizes Dr. Rosenberg’s “Mind Map System,” which focuses on connecting childhood trauma with resulting complications. The system takes clients from the “creation” of the disturbance—the past—through the current destructive behaviors and eventually leads them into future “reintegration and unity.”

Individual, family and couples therapy are all offered, as is psychological testing. Individual therapy focuses on trigger identification and the ensuing reactions to those triggers, working towards an eventual resolution. Using the Mind Map System, clients and their therapists identify causal relationships between trauma and resulting thought processes.

Couples therapy has a similar focus on initial wounds, this time alongside a partner, identifying how these core issues affect the relationship between the two people. Clients work on themselves and then with one another to address the points of conflict resulting from each individual’s reactions to triggers.

Family therapy spreads this theory out across all members of a family, again identifying triggers and changing the reactions to them.

Art therapy is available, as is “corporate therapy” for dealing with interpersonal issues at work. Therapy focusing on LGBT issues is offered, as is support for eating disorders.

In Summary

The Psychological Healing Center targets the root cause of mental health complications, as opposed to facilities that focus only on managing the resulting symptoms. It is a great choice for treatment of those who come from dysfunctional families or have childhood trauma, and has extensive dual diagnosis support for a range of additional complications.
