Located in Lantana, Florida, an oceanside town in Palm Beach County, Providence Recovery Center is a multi-faceted behavioral health facility for men and women struggling with addiction and co-occurring disorders. All care plans encompass a wide range of treatment modalities and approach care from a mind, body and spirit perspective. The facility is licensed by the state of Florida Department of Children and Families (DCF) and offers treatment in a range of intensities, including Partial Hospitalization Programs (PHP), Intensive Outpatient Programs (IOP) and standard outpatient tracks as well.
Treatment and Staff
Before beginning a program, all clients go through an initial assessment process to help staff members develop their care plans. While on-site detox is not available, those in need can get referrals as necessary. In general, clients begin by attending PHP which meets for 25 hours a week of group and individual therapy. Following the “Florida Model,” participants also live in local sober livings during this period and are supervised 24 hours a day. PHP is the most intensive care option, followed by IOP, which meets nine hours a week (three days a week, three hours per session). In IOP, participants are also encouraged to live in sober housing whenever possible. Finally, standard outpatient plans meet for three hours a week along with an individual therapy session and are usually reserved for aftercare.
In all the above, participants can expect to attend both individual and group therapy with evidence-based treatment practices including CBT and DBT. Dual diagnosis support is available as well. Each program approaches recovery from a mind, body and spirit perspective with groups covering mindfulness, meditation, nutrition and overall health. Group sessions cover many topics including trigger identification, relapse prevention, 12-step recovery, self-esteem, interpersonal skills and other rotating topics.
The staff at Providence Recovery Center consists of state-licensed addiction counselors, psychologists, case managers and additional Master’s-level clinicians.
In addition to the clinical approaches mentioned above, the organization also tries to work in relaxation and fun sober activities to help clients lead a new, healthy lifestyle. To that end, clients in PHP often take day trips and supervised outings to go to the beach or see movies. Other activities include snorkeling, kayaking and other related activities. As mentioned, the organization provides several program intensities to encourage clients to step down between them as they progress in their recovery.
Overall, Providence Recovery Center provides flexible, evidence-based outpatient treatment for clients in recovery from addiction and co-occurring disorders. Following the Florida Model, clients stay in local sober living homes while attending intensive group and individual therapy and participating in fun, relaxing activities. Treatment plans include 12-step recovery in addition to psychotherapy. While the cost of treatment may vary depending on each client’s insurance, Providence Recovery Center is a strong resource for those seeking flexible outpatient care.
