The Basics
Located in Chardon, Ohio just east of Cleveland, Prosperity Haven is a behavioral health facility with flexible treatment services to adult men struggling with substance abuse and addiction. While the facility’s main program is its residential treatment, those seeking more flexible care can also attend its outpatient and Intensive Outpatient Programs (IOP), which include all the same treatment methods.
Treatment and Staff
Before treatment begins, all clients go through an initial intake and assessment process to help the staff determine their needs. While on-site detox is not available, those in need can get referrals to nearby programs. Though standard outpatient programs may be more flexible, those in IOP typically attend treatment at least three days a week for three hours per session. Treatment features both individual and group therapy with evidence-based practices including CBT and DBT.
Groups cover many topics such as trauma processing, relapse prevention, coping skills, stress management, trigger identification, men’s issues, life skills and other relevant topics. Twelve-step participation is also required.
Although basic dual diagnosis support may be available for issues like depression and anxiety, those in need of more intensive psychiatric help may need to look elsewhere. The staff at Prosperity Haven consists of a supervising physician, LADCs, LCDCs and additional Master’s-level clinicians.
Extras
While the above program is a primary care option as well, those who attend residential treatment can also design a program for themselves to serve as a step-down or aftercare option. As an added bonus, any businessmen and women who attend the residential program can work throughout the program in the facility’s office for executives. Those who complete a program can also work with staff members to develop step-down aftercare plans.

Overall, Prosperity Haven offers flexible and comprehensive outpatient treatment programs to men in the area struggling with addiction and substance abuse issues. All treatment plans are individualized and include evidence-based treatment practices, life skills groups and 12-step recovery as well. While those in need of more extensive dual diagnosis support may need to seek additional help elsewhere, Prosperity Haven’s outpatient programs remain a strong option for those in the area.
