Proactive Recovery Center Review
Proactive Recovery Center is a substance abuse treatment organization based in Delray Beach, Florida that provides several outpatient programs in conjunction with sober living homes. Proactive’s outpatient services are an Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) and basic outpatient treatment. Dual diagnosis support is also incorporated if necessary.
Accommodations and Food
The Proactive Recovery sober living facilities include three gender-specific houses throughout Delray Beach—two for men and one for women. Each house has between four and six clients, who share comfortable double bedrooms, which include twin or full-sized beds, nightstands, lamps, closets and dressers. The homes all have updated bathrooms, full kitchens and on-site laundry facilities. Amenities include cable TV and WiFi.
Clients are responsible for their own groceries, and food can be prepared in fully equipped kitchens. Each resident is expected to perform daily chores. Smoking is prohibited inside, though it’s allowed outside if the property is kept clean of cigarette butts.
Treatment and Staff
The outpatient programs are available for those who are stable enough to live at home or in sober living during treatment. Detox is not provided by Proactive Recovery Center, but referrals to local programs are available if necessary. All clients have individualized treatment plans that include group and individual therapy and 12-step meetings. IOP is a 10-week program that entails 12 to 15 hours per week of therapy, along with a minimum of three mandatory recovery meetings. Outpatient lasts another six weeks and includes a weekly group session and individual therapy once a month or as needed. Therapy in both programs uses CBT, DBT and EMDR. Specialized trauma-informed techniques are offered, including forms of CBT used in cases of PTSD.
The staff at Proactive Recovery Center consists of licensed treatment professionals, including psychiatrists, clinical psychologists and MFTs.
Extras
After completing the program, clients have the option to continue in aftercare, which includes up a year of monthly alumni groups.
There is a family program that includes family therapy and information sessions. Referrals are also provided to family resources like Alanon and Alateen.

Proactive Recovery Center’s outpatient program offers an excellent alternative for those who want to live at home during treatment or need additional support after residential care. The comprehensive dual diagnosis support and trauma-informed care are a great asset. This is an excellent choice for those on the south Florida coast.
