Priory Lombard House Review
Priory Lombard House is a men’s only therapeutic community in Attleborough. Programming teaches independent living skills and uses evidence-based and holistic approaches. Treatment is for clients who have struggled with acute mental illness, substance abuse, have personality disorders or are on the autism spectrum. By the end of this program, clients are ready to return to their communities and be contributing members of society.
Accommodations and Food
The main facility is a nine-bed, homelike environment. There is also a two bedroom apartment on the same campus that serves as a step-down housing option. The facility has a large shared lounge with TV, conservatory, and a game room with billiard table and dart board. The grounds also contain a garden and pond.
Clients share a rehabilitation kitchen where they prepare meals for themselves and each other.
Treatment and Staff
The Lombard House is a locked facility. Treatment focuses on offending clients rehabilitating and reintegrating. Each day has group and individual therapy and activities using a range of therapies. This includes psychoeducational workshops, daily living and coping skills and evidence-based methods.
Independent living skills consist of learning how to cook, budgeting, laundry, and how to shop for food and other essential items. Everyday clients work on relapse prevention techniques and improving communication.
During individual therapy with the primary therapist, clients set achievable goals on a day to day basis. Every client has a say in every step of their treatment.
Treatment approaches include CBT, DBT, trauma-informed care, and real work vocational training. Clients are able to experience real world work opportunities and utilize their skill sets.
Clients with a history of legal offenses have a separate track that includes specific interventions that pertain to their crimes. This is accompanied by therapy and education. Clients who have a background of substance misuse also have 12-step support.
Staff at Lombard House are consulting psychiatrists, clinical psychologists, occupational therapists, art therapists, peer support and nursing staff.

Holistic treatments include art and music therapy.
