The Woodbourne facility located in Birmingham has a comprehensive inpatient and outpatient program, as well as intensive adolescent care. Accommodations and Food
At the Woodbourne facility clients stay in the Manor Ward, which is a nine bed facility with private, en suite bedrooms. The hospital campus is very close to the Birmingham airport and train station. As a result, it’s also close to a number of recreational activities and amenities.
The facility itself was recently remodeled, so clients have new appliances and furniture. The bedrooms each have a telephone and personal TV, though there are several comfortable lounges throughout the facility that also have TVs.
Clients eat all meals in an on-site restaurant. They make meals to order and can accommodate any specific dietary restriction or personal taste.
Treatment and Staff
The addiction program at Woodbourne uses the 12-step philosophy along with various traditional therapies. During the 28 day residential track, clients have several group sessions that address relapse prevention, self esteem and mental health issues like anxiety and depression. Throughout treatment clients learn how to handle their anger, and improve communication and relationships with loved ones. Furthermore, they garner ways to deal with bereavement and grief without using drugs or alcohol as a crutch.
Treatment protocols use integrative therapy, interpersonal therapy, CBT, DBT and EMDR. There are also more intensive therapies such as electroconvulsive therapy, and holistic methods and expressive art therapies.
The Woodbourne facility uses several consulting doctors in conjunction with staff therapists. They design personalized treatment plans for each person. The treatment team includes psychotherapists, psychiatrists, and specialized CBT, EMDR and art therapists.
Extras
Clients enjoy group exercise class, yoga, personal training, art therapy, gardening and art therapy.
As with all the other Priory facilities, all clients who graduate the inpatient program have access to free aftercare for up to a year.
