Cloisters Newbury is a men’s only inpatient facility through Priory Hospital in Berkshire, UK. This facility is for clients who have mental illness along with cognitive disabilities and substance abuse. This program is primarily skills based because the intent is for clients to transition out of the program and back into their communities as seamlessly as possible.
Accommodations and Food
Twenty-five clients live in a modern, home-like facility. They reside in private bedrooms that include en suite bathrooms. The facility is in a neighborhood that is close to transportation, two gyms, restaurants, shops and Newbury College. There is also a gym on site that clients can access. The grounds are very quiet and private in a therapeutic setting. Residents enjoy a peaceful garden and outdoor seating areas.
Shared spaces in the facility include a lounge with TV and couches, and a kitchen with dining room. Every week clients go as a group to the grocery store in the town nearby. The team of caterers prepares the meals every day.
Treatment and Staff
This program allows for clients to start making their way back to independence while still having the support of staff and clinicians.
