Accommodations and Food
Primrose occupies a large sunny brick home with ample gardens and grounds for relaxation and socializing. The home features 19 private bedrooms with en-suite bathrooms and comfortable, modern decor with multiple treatment rooms and common areas for study and recreation. There is also an on-site gym for workout.
Primrose has all meals professionally catered for variety and nutritional density. Meals can accommodate residents’ preferences and dietary restrictions. Primrose provides residents with laundry and linen changing services. While residents are discouraged from bringing electronic devices, those who need laptops for work may use them under supervision.
Treatment and Staff
Primrose provides a week-long detox program for clients in need of stabilization. Clients can then continue treatment in Primrose’s 14-day or 28-day residential programs. In both programs, clients attend an average of four to five treatment groups a day and have individual therapy at least once a week.
Therapy groups use CBT and DBT and clients have music and art therapy as well as meditation classes. The 12-step framework is a cornerstone of treatment at Primrose. Residents participate in frequent meetings and can receive on-site support and guidance in working the 12-steps from their counselors and volunteer recovery support workers.
Primrose’s counseling staff is comprised of Master’s-level therapists and support workers, many of whom are in recovery. Primrose also employs a health coach to support clients’ physical well-being. Residents in need of dual-diagnosis support or primary care treatment receive coordinated care with additional local health care providers.
Extras
Each month, Primrose hosts a family day in which residents’ loved ones can attend a day of on-site educational and support workshops. As an alumni of UK Addiction Treatment Centres, all residents who complete their treatment plan can receive one year of weekly relapse prevention groups free of charge.
