The Basics
As a member of the Pinnacle Treatment Centers network, Suboxone Services of Cambria County is one of many facilities providing treatment for chemical dependency and opiate addiction on the East Coast and in the Midwest. Started in 2006, PTC began with four facilities in Pittsburgh and Johnstown, Pennsylvania, but has expanded over the years and now offers both outpatient and inpatient treatment in Indiana, Kentucky, Virginia, New Jersey, Ohio, Michigan and Minnesota. Suboxone Services of Cambria County provides focused outpatient care for adults in need of Medication-Assisted Treatment (MAT) combined with traditional therapeutic services.
Treatment and Staff
Before client begin their recovery process, they participate in an assessment with the intake staff which determines if treatment with Suboxone is the best option. If suitable, the client and staff proceed to develop an individualized treatment plan that has flexibility, enabling clients to still live at home while participating in treatment services.
Initially, all clients begin the program with daily visits to the facility. This includes receiving a daily dose of medication, as well as attending group and individual therapy. Over time, clients decrease their attendance and work towards taking their medication independently. Addictionologists monitor medication and may alter dosage at any time. Length of time receiving MAT is unique for each client, but the facility believes that several months helps to prevent relapse. Clients are also encouraged to attend 12-step meetings in the community to help further develop their support network.
The clinical staff utilizes evidence-based treatment as well as psychoeducation to help clients learn about the disease of addiction and alcoholism. Life skills development and relapse prevention skills are emphasized. Clients are guided by Master’s-level clinicians with experience in mental health and chemical dependency. The staff is made up of LCSWs, LPCs and CADCs. Nurses and medical staff are also part of the team at SSCC.
Extras
Clients can invite family and loved ones to participate in therapy, as a solid support system is viewed as an integral part of the recovery process.
Referrals are available if clients are looking for a sober living environment while they participate in treatment.
