The Basics
Located in Olympia, Washington Pinnacle Peak Institute offers an Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) that uses evidence-based treatment, in addition to faith-based counseling, for adults who are struggling with addiction and co-occurring disorders. The holistic approach at Pinnacle aims to address the underlying issues of substance abuse, treating the whole person and not just the addictive behavior.
Treatment and Staff
All perspective clients must undergo a drug and alcohol assessment to determine if the level of care offered at Pinnacle is appropriate. Once accepted, counselors create an individualized treatment plan consisting of group and individual therapy at a fairly intensive pace. The IOP can be up to nine hours of treatment a week, broken down into three-hour sessions. The length of the program entirely depends on what the client’s individual needs. For those with a dual diagnosis, Pinnacle offers groups specifically geared toward addressing mental health issues.
Treatment employs evidence-based practices, such as Motivational Enhancement Therapy (MET) and DBT, as well as EMDR for trauma. It also includes life skills training, relapse prevention and anger management techniques. Clients’ progress in the program is assessed regularly with their therapist. Though this facility does offer faith-based services, an affiliation with Christianity it is not required. Twelve-step principles are not a part of the curriculum at Pinnacle.
Staff members are experienced, licensed addiction therapists and an LPC who frequently attends training for the most up-to-date evidence-based treatment methods.
Extras
Pinnacle has a family program, as family’s involvement in the treatment process is strongly encouraged. Options for aftercare and other referral services are also provided. Regular drug screenings are performed by request.
Pinnacle also offers specific programs for clients who have experienced trauma, domestic violence or have had a DUI conviction.
