The Basics
Founded in 2006, Pinnacle Treatment Centers began with just two chemical dependency treatment facilities in Pennsylvania. Over time, the network has expanded to include inpatient and outpatient substance abuse treatment in Indiana, New Jersey, Kentucky, Virginia, Minnesota, Michigan and Ohio.
Alliance Medical Services (AMS) is an outpatient facility located in Johnstown, Pennsylvania. AMS provides adults with therapeutic services as well as Medication-Assisted Treatment (MAT). A range of treatment tracks are available that specialize in meeting the unique needs of clientele.
Treatment and Staff
Before admission, all clients are scheduled for an intake appointment with the clinical staff. Based on their assessment, clients may be enrolled in just the MAT or the Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) track in tandem with medication. Individualized treatment plans help clients to meet their life, work and family responsibilities while living at home.
The clinical staff utilize evidence-based practices in treatment as well as psychoeducation. Clients in need of MAT may be prescribed Suboxone or methadone to treat intense opiate withdrawal symptoms. Treatment hours are available in the mornings, evenings and weekends.
Clients enrolled in the IOP attend daily group therapy which focuses on relapse prevention, psychoeducation and behavioral modification. Clients learn new coping skills and process emotions with the support of their peers. Individual therapy is also available, as is family therapy and marital counseling. One-on-one sessions further support recovery concepts and allow for personal issues to be discussed in private. Clients are also required to attend 12-step meetings in conjunction with regular therapy.
Medical support and health testing are also available at the facility. Physicians and a nursing staff are always available to assist clients during clinic hours.
Extras
Physicals and testing for TB, HIV and STDs are also available and clients in need of more intensive treatment are given referrals to both Pinnacle facilities and trusted community resources. Clients looking for additional support can be connected with local sober living facilities.
